ASTC Travel Passport Program

Sciencenter members receive free admission to more than 325 science museums worldwide through the Association of Science-Technology Centers (ASTC) Travel Passport Program. Museums located within 90 miles of the Sciencenter are automatically excluded from the reciprocity program. (A 90-mile limit has been established by ASTC to prevent regular visits to nearby museums by people who may have purchased only one membership.)

Please check ASTC's website for list of participating science museums before you visit as museums opt in and out of ASTC membership annually.

Some Sciencenter membership privileges may not apply at other museums – please call ahead before visiting.

In addition to providing the ASTC benefit, the Sciencenter has made special reciprocal arrangements with the following nearby museums (please call ahead to these museums for reciprocal admission guidelines):

Association of Children’s Museums Reciprocal Network

Members of the Sciencenter’s Family Premium and Sustaining levels receive 50% off admission for up to 6 people to 200 ACM member children’s museums beyond the 350+ science museums included in all Sciencenter memberships.

Please call ahead before visiting – some Sciencenter membership privileges may not apply at other museums.

Who can be included on my membership?

2 adults who reside in the same household can be named on a membership. Your membership includes your children living in your household. Adults living at separate addresses cannot be named on a single membership. We do not put children’s names on membership cards for security reasons (in case the card gets lost or stolen).

For a Family Level Membership, 1 adult cardholder must be present for free member admission to apply for the household, and the cardholder must accompany children under age 12 during a visit.

For Family Plus or Premium level memberships, unnamed adult caregivers may accompany your children without you present.

Can I bring a guest?

At the Family Plus, Family Premium, and Sustaining membership levels, a member can bring up to 2 guests with them when they visit. (Please note that this benefit may not apply at other museums.) At least one named cardholder must be present to receive guest privileges.

At the Family level, regular Sciencenter admission must be paid for guests.

Can a babysitter or caregiver use my membership?

Our Family Plus includes admission for 1 babysitter, nanny, or caregiver to bring your child to the Sciencenter without you present.

At the Family Premium and Sustaining membership levels, up to 2 caregivers can visit with your children without you present.

To use the Caregiver Privilege:

• The caregiver must present the family’s membership card at the time of admission
• You must have a current Sciencenter membership
• The caregiver must be at least 16 years old
• The caregiver privilege does not entitle your caregiver to your member discounts on programs or store purchases. Your caregiver is not eligible to bring any guests outside the household when visiting
• The caregiver privilege benefit does not apply to other museums

I'm a grandparent and I want to bring my grandchildren. Which membership is right for me?

Our Family Plus or Family Premium levels are perfect for grandparents! Both levels allow you to bring your grandchildren to the Sciencenter.

Memberships are not transferable or refundable.

Adult cardholders must be part of the same household.

Sciencenter memberships and member benefits are not transferable to other individuals or organizations. Cards may not be passed to friends or extended family for admission.

Some reciprocal benefits may not apply at other museums, please call ahead before visiting.

Memberships are valid for one year and must be renewed to continue receiving benefits.

Memberships may not be used to offset the cost of field trips or group visits.

Discounts apply to the cardholders listed on the membership. Your membership cannot be used to obtain discounts for other relatives, extended family, or friends, and must be current to obtain discounts.

Memberships are revocable licenses. The Sciencenter reserves the right to refuse or revoke membership and/or deny admission without refund for non-compliance with applicable rules and terms or for inappropriate conduct. Purchase of an annual membership does not entitle the purchaser to renewal in a subsequent year. Membership levels, benefits, and prices are subject to change.
